This February, educate your patients on the importance of good oral health while promoting National Children’s Dental Health Month.  It’s the perfect opportunity to visit schools and connect with the community.  Make it fun by providing kids with personalized Sqwiggly toothbrushes, activity sheets and a tote bag.  You’ll make a memorable impression, and when it comes time for a dental appointment they just have to look at the contact information on the toothbrush you gave them!

Thank you to all the dental professionals who are making a difference in kids lives by participating in National Children’s Dental Health Month!

We would love to hear how your practice is helping to promote children’s oral health this month.  Please share your stories with us by leaving a comment below this post.

When I was a young, one of the things I dreaded the most was making a visit to the dentist.  It was definitely not an enjoyable experience, especially when I had to go under the needle.  However, now as an adult and looking back at my past experience, I realized that the only fun part of going to the dentist for a check up was playing with all the fun kids activities that they had in the waiting room.

My dentist always had fun activity books and sheets for kids to doodle on to help calm them down for the upcoming treatment.  I loved doing the maze activity sheets and the one where you had to find the hidden items or characters. My brother, on the other hand, was a bit older than I, so he enjoyed doing the word search activity sheets.

After the appointment, the dentist always rewarded me with a sticker and an award if I had a perfect check up with no cavities.   I always enjoyed the goodie bags that the receptionist prepared for us after every visit.  One time we had fun color toothbrushes and coloring books to take home.  My mom always made sure we had a check-up every six months and the receptionist did a very good job of sending appointment reminder cards in the mail.  Our dentist always provided us with a tooth time table fact sheet to let us know how our teeth are growing – it was neat to see the different stages of my teeth growth.

As a little kid, dental appointments were definitely on my list of the least enjoyable things to do, however I did enjoy all the other perks that came with the visit.

If you are a dentist looking for some fun giveaways for kids, check out www.e-sharper.com/kids.  We’ve got all the fun activities you need to build a successful and fun practice for your little patients.
